Design.

Polysource has been in golf and turf irrigation design for decades, and our systems are under the ground all over Australia. Dale Stafford leads the work. With over forty years in the industry he designs a system to the site, the turf and the water you have, not to a catalogue.

That covers hydraulic design, head layout and spacing, zoning, pipe sizing, pump and control specification, and the drawings your contractor builds from. For an existing system, we assess what is there and tell you plainly what to keep, what to fix and what to replace.

Supply.

Through a strong network of Australian manufacturers and distributors we supply the components a turf system is built from, to a design of ours or to yours.

  • Control system components

Controllers, decoders and field hardware for the major manufacturers.

  • Communication components

Wiring, radio and network hardware that lets the controller talk to the field.

  • Automatic and manual valves

Solenoid and manual valves, valve boxes and related fittings.

  • HDPE pipework and fittings

Mains and laterals, electrofusion and compression fittings.

  • PVC pipework and fittings

Pressure pipe, CI and related components.

  • Sprinklers

Rotors, sprays, nozzles and the parts that keep them running.

  • Drip irrigation

Dripline, emitters, filtration and related components for gardens and landscape beds.

How a job runs.

Three stages, in this order. You can bring us in at any of them.

  1. Site and requirements

What the turf is, how it is used, the water source and pressure, and what the current system does or does not do. For a golf course or a sports field we would rather walk it than guess from a plan, so expect a visit. For smaller sites and interstate work we start with a call and your drawings.

  2. Design and specification

Hydraulics, layout, zoning and control, drawn up so a contractor can price and build it and a superintendent can run it.

  3. Supply and support

The components delivered to the design, and a person to ring when something in the field needs a part or an answer.

Who it is for.

Turf that is looked after by somebody whose job depends on it.

  • Golf courses

Greens, tees, fairways and roughs, new builds and replacements, on systems that run every night for twenty years.

  • Sports fields and ovals

Council and school grounds, stadium turf, training fields. Even coverage, sensible zoning, controls the grounds crew can actually use.

  • Private estates and large lawns

Residential and rural properties where the lawn is part of the house.

  • Councils and schools

Parks, reserves and playing surfaces, designed to be maintained by the people who inherit them.

  • Irrigation contractors

Design support and component supply for your own jobs, to your drawings or ours.

Our systems can be found under the ground all over Australia.

Irrigation questions.

Do you install?

We design and supply. Installation is done by your contractor or one we can recommend, working from our drawings, and we stay involved through the build.

Which brands do you supply?

Components from the major manufacturers. Tell us what your system runs and we will match it, or design around what suits the site.

Can you assess an existing system?

Yes. We look at coverage, pressure, zoning and control and tell you what is worth keeping, what needs fixing and what should be replaced, with a design for the parts that change.

Can you replace part of a system, not all of it?

Yes, and most jobs are. A course cannot take the whole system offline, so we design in stages that run alongside what is already there, worst holes first.

Do you only do golf courses?

No. Golf is where the experience comes from, and the same care goes into a school oval, a council park or a large private lawn.

Where do you work?

Design and supply Australia wide, from Wollongbar in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.

Tell us the turf, the water and what is failing.

Every course and field is different. Give us the area, the water source and pressure, what the current system does or does not do, and when you need it sorted, and we will tell you what we would do and whether we would come and look.
