PolyTrac. The Australian bog mat.
Instant heavy duty temporary road access, moulded here from recycled polyethylene, rated to 200 tonne, and locked together with steel joiners you fit from above.
A bog mat has one purpose. Get the vehicle in, get the job done, get the vehicle out, and leave the ground the way you found it.
PolyTrac does that for haul trucks, cranes, drilling rigs, concrete pumps and utes. Lay the mats end to end and you have a road across a paddock, a wet site or a lawn. The traction pattern is moulded into both faces, so either side up grips the tyre and grips the ground. Steel lock joiners bolt across each join from above and hold the road together under load.
The mats are tough and comparatively light for what they carry, because they are recycled polyethylene and not timber or steel. They do not rot, splinter, soak up water or corrode, and the UV stability is in the material. A PolyTrac road comes off one job and goes straight onto the next.
They are fully customisable and sold direct to the public as well as to trade. Whatever the ground conditions, if you can describe the load we can put a mat under it.

Thickness is the lever. A ute on a lawn and a 50 tonne crane on a soft verge want very different mats. Tell us the vehicles and the ground and we will recommend the right one, which is not always the heaviest.

How a PolyTrac road goes down.
Three steps, in this order, and it comes up the same way in reverse.
- Lay the mats end to end
Either face up. Butt them together along the line the vehicles will take, overlapping the softest ground with the thickest mats.

- Drop a joiner across each join
The steel lock joiner sits across the seam on top of the mats. No flipping, no crawling underneath.

- Bolt it down
Two bolts through the joiner into the moulded sockets. The road is now one piece and stays one piece under a haul truck.

Where PolyTrac is used.
Anywhere the ground is softer than the job needs it to be.
- Exploration and drilling
Rig access and pads across wet or fragile country, lifted when the hole is done.
- Mining and civil
Haul road patches, laydown areas, access over services and finished surfaces.
- Cranes and heavy transport
Getting a crane or a float across the verge, the lawn or the sports field to where it works.
- Events
Vehicle routes across turf that has to look untouched on Monday.
- Rescue and recovery
Traction under a bogged vehicle, and a road out for the one recovering it.
PolyTrac questions.
Which thickness do I need?
It depends on the load and the ground more than anything else. A light vehicle on firm turf sits at the thin end of the range. A loaded haul truck on saturated clay sits at the thick end. Tell us both and we will recommend it.
Black check or black, and what is LT?
Black check is the same mat with a chequer traction pattern. LT is the 2400 × 1200mm mat.
Can I use them on a slope?
Yes, joined. The lock joiners keep the road in one piece so mats do not walk downhill under traffic. On steeper grades ask us about anchoring.
Do you hire them?
We manufacture and sell. If you are building a hire fleet, buy direct from us.
What is the lead time?
Standard sizes are held in stock at Wollongbar and go out by road freight Australia wide. Custom sizes carry a moulding lead time. Tell us the date you need them on site and we will say yes or no on the first call.
Tell us the site, the loads and the ground.
Enquiries are individual because sites are. Give us the vehicles, the conditions, the area to cover and the date you need it, and we will come back with the right product, size and thickness, and whether we can hit the date.
